Book Buzz: Dead Wake: The Last Crossing of the Lusitania

Dead Wake: The Last Crossing of the Lusitania by Erik Larson

May 1, 1915: The Lusitania, a luxury ocean liner carrying a record number of children and infants, sets sail from New York to Liverpool. Captain William Thomas Turner put enormous faith in the polite structures of war, thinking the Germans would not attack a civilian ship. His hubris, along with Germany's desire to change the rules of war, lead to one of the greatest disasters in history.

Copies of the book will be available at the Main Information desk one month before the discussion.
