Book Buzz: Demon Copperhead by Barbara Kingsolver
Transposing Charles Dickens’ classic David Copperfield to our own place and time, Kingsolver tells the story of a young, southern Appalachian boy born to a single mother and living in a trailer who endures many of the same trials as Copperfield, including foster care, child labor, tragic love and severe losses. An examination on how many things relating to poverty in our society have not changed.
Copies of the book will be available at the Main Information desk one month before the discussion.
