Reimagine: Fairytale Workshop

The Reimagine project takes a look at the importance of diversity in literature. We will focus on Fairy Tales and find creative ways to enhance well known fairy tales and introduce some lesser known ones. Youth will be encouraged to take a look at stories and think outside the box and create new versions of the stories that are inclusive and diverse. They will be encouraged to “remix” the Fairytales by including characters that represent themselves and introducing characters, story plots, themes that represent diversity. This project is presented by SAMS in partnership with the Shaker Public Library. We will offer workshops throughout the month of February for grades 4-6. With a finale presentation on Feb. 26th. Workshop dates are Feb. 5, 12, and 19 from 4:30 - 6:00 p.m. held in the Shaker Main Library. The finale will be on Feb. 26 from 4:30-6. Registration required.
